NACE Rev. 2 Industrial branch

NACE is the industrial classification of Eurostat. The index for retail trade is based on sales of companies registered within industrial branches under 'G.47 Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles'.

inflation adjustment

Nominal prices

The prices in retail sales are calculated as nominel prices / Current prices which means that the calculation contain all the price changes in the measured period and this is the marketprice for the commodities.

Real prices

The retail sales are calculated in real prices / constant prices which means that the changes in the prices of the commodities in the measured period are subtracted and the result is a value representing the quantity of sold commodities.
