A single parent can apply for having the maintenance allowance for children payed in advance by The Social Security Office. This is an allowance imposed by the High Commissioner of the Faroe Islands or a similar foreign authority according to the legislation of children's rights. Any payments in advance are called in from the debtor by The Social Security Office.
