Probabilistic forecasting is done by making 10,000 forecasts based on net migration, fertility and mortality rates since 1985.
From the forecasts these probability levels are extracted:
There is a probability of 95% for the forecast population to be between lower95 and upper95
There is a probability of 90% for the forecast population to be between lower90 and upper90
There is a probability of 80% for the forecastt population to be between lower80 and upper80
 median: The middle value
Observed population figures that the forecast is partly based on are a recent snapshot from the population registry. This is a dynamic registry that is updated as required when changes are reported. The figures can therefore differ from population figures disseminated elsewhere in the statbank.

Only calculated for 1-year ages of each sex.
For the summed values Total (sex) and Total (age) only the median is given.
