Description of data-cube Dimensions in this cube are: time, instrument, industry and MFI-group.
In the dimension 'MFI-group' you will find the monetary financial institutions (MFIs) by their country of domicile. The population consists of Faroese and Danish MFIs. Faroese MFIs are banks and their subsidiaries and branches abroad. Danish MFIs relevant to this cube are mainly danish banks and mortgage institutions.
All instruments except deposits and loans have been excluded. Instruments are organised with a 2-level hierachy. The upper level consists of 'Loans' and 'Deposits'. In the lower level 'Loans' are breaked down into 'Revolving loans and overdrafts', 'Bond based loans' and 'Other loans'.
The dimension 'Industry' has been structured with a 2-level hierarchy. In the upper level industries are grouped into primary, secondary and tertiary industries as well as housholds. In the lower level for example you will see a break down of secondary industries into 'Manufacturing', 'Electricity and gas supply', 'Water supply, sewage and waste management' and 'Construction'.
Loans from one MFI to another are excluded from this cube. The same goes for deposits.
Outstanding amounts are shown in million DKK by end of month. Same figures shown in the tool 'Tableau':
